Snapshots From The Subway

Fresh new curators for the alcoholic gallery on wheels

I was riding on the subway the other day, and for some reason, I started to look at the ads on the car’s walls.  I normally don’t pay attention to the posters – I am usually reading or writing something.  But something had me look at these ads through the eyes of my past drinking life and through my recovered life. I found that almost everything my eyes fell upon was something that I could identify with.  I took note with interest:

The Lying Game (TV show)

Switched At Birth (TV show)

Identity Theft (movie)

The Walking Dead (TV show)

Goodbye Bad Breath! (gum)

Jakob’s Creek (wine)

You’re not alone (online dating)

Get back to basics (Bible camp)

What does your freedom look like? (retirement fund)

She’s drowning on the inside (Cystic Fibrosis foundation)

Funny how perspective shades our look at things.

What a ride.
